Focus on the ACET Method and Advanced Corrosion Measurement Technologies
On February 20th, Chemtec successfully hosted the “Chemtec Lab Experience” event at the Italiana Hotels in Rho. The event focused on the innovative ACET (Accelerated Corrosion Evaluation Technique) method, a cutting-edge technique for the rapid and precise measurement of coating corrosion resistance, in compliance with ISO 17463.
Technical Insights and Practical Applications
The day featured presentations by leading experts, who provided high-level technical insights. Gianmaria Guidi of Germedia Srl explored contractual relationships according to ISO 12944, while Carlo De Alessandri and Stefania Muto of Chemtec detailed the operation of the ACET method and the activities of the company’s laboratory. Daniele Bottacci of METROHM presented the instrumentation necessary to ensure measurement accuracy, and Tommaso Giovenzana of Chemtec shared case studies comparing the ACET method with the traditional salt spray test. Finally, Nicolò Trevisan of Metalplast illustrated the practical applications of the ACET method in coating protection.
Laboratory Visit and Testing Opportunities
In the afternoon, participants had the opportunity to visit Chemtec’s laboratory and production facility in Corbetta, where they could observe the sample preparation process up close. At the conclusion of the event, a voucher was offered that allows for comparative tests on their own samples within twelve months, providing a valuable opportunity to assess corrosion resistance.
A Commitment to Innovation and Sustainability
The event confirmed Chemtec’s commitment to innovation and quality, with a particular focus on environmental sustainability. As Carlo Guidetti, CEO of Chemtec, emphasized, the company will continue to pursue the goal of joining forces within the surface treatment industry to promote technological progress, focusing on increasingly sustainable solutions capable of meeting the challenges of the future.
